Kemar Roach, Nkrumah Bonner & Brandon King back in ODI Mix against India

The fast bowler Kemar Roach makes a comeback to the ODI Setup after August 2019. His inclusion is a clear sign as Windies want sheer accuracy. The inclusion of Brandon King makes their batting unit more dangerous. Nkrumah Bonner is a bit new to ODI Setup as he played an ODI against Bangladesh in 2021. He has a good track record as in 67 List A matches, he has amassed 1956 runs. Co-incidentally he has turned out be to be pivotal for West Indies batting unit, averaging in excess of 40.

Kemar Roach the speedster back in ODI Mix to tackle the brilliance of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan & Virat Kohli

West Indies are shell-shocked as from no where Ireland handed them a 2-1 defeat in the recently ODI Series. Desmond Haynes the Lead Selector said: “Kemar Roach is one of our leading fast bowlers, and we believe we need bowlers up front to get early wickets. Kemar, with an economy rate of five, is certainly good enough to play.”

West Indies nemesis with the ball against Ireland

West Indies successfully defended 269 in the first ODI against Ireland, whereas they struggled in the final two matches, scoring 229 and 212. West Indies have a mountain to climb as India would not only be competitive but they would be draining  as India have got everything to excel.

West Indies ODI Squad

West Indies ODI squad: Kieron Pollard (captain), Fabian Allen, Nkrumah Bonner, Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, Kemar Roach, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Hayden Walsh Jr

The squad of West Indies looks threatening as usual due to their skipper Kieron Pollard & the experienced campaigner Darren Bravo’s presence makes Caribbean Side more complete.

The presence of senior players like Jason Holder, Shai Hope & Kemar Roach would keep the team in a good stead. The role of Nicholas Pooran becomes extremely vital as his attacking instincts are invaluable at the back end of the innings.  The skipper would hope that his team gets one step ahead & wins ODI Series as in 2019 December, India had won the Series by 2-1 after being 1-0 down.

The  bowling department looks too hot to handle as there is Alzarri Joseph who would be roaring to go due to his raw pace. All in all West Indies would create chances for themselves but winning ODI Series unlikely given the squad, captain & Coach India possesses. West Indies needs consistency to win a bilateral ODI Series as one off performances won’t win an ODI Series.
