RCB had a difficult day at the field, as they were thrashed all over the park by Punjab Kings in IPL 2022 Match 60. Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone, who both smashed fifties, were the primary culprits. Livingstone struck 70 off 42 balls, ahead of Bairstow’s 60 off 29.
Josh Hazlewood and Mohammed Siraj, though, accomplished another major milestone, even if it’s an unwelcome one when they bowled for 100 runs in six overs. Hazlewood was thrashed for 64 runs in four overs, while Siraj conceded 36 runs in two overs.

Punjab Kings, who had set the standard for blistering Powerplay starts, scored 83 in six overs, striking Glenn Maxwell (1/17 in two overs), Josh Hazlewood (0/64 in four overs), and Mohammed Siraj (0/36 in two overs).
While Maxwell was successful in getting Dhawan, both Hazlewood and Siraj bowled short on a pitch with real bounce. Bairstow drew and flicked them into the stands with ease, and by the time deliveries pitched up, they had also landed in the stands.
Jonny Bairstow smashed Hazlewood for 22 runs in the second over of the match, including two fours and two sixes. After that, Hazlewood bounced back to give up just seven runs in his second over. As Hazlewood returned to deliver the 16th over, Jitesh Sharma hit two consecutive fours to make it 11 runs.

After allowing 40 runs in his first three overs, Hazlewood was struck out in the 19th – as Punjab attempted to finish strong. After Bairstow, trashed Hazlewood’s first over, another Englishman, Liam Livingstone, hammered fours and sixes in a 24-run over, leaving Hazlewood with an awful record.
Bairstow, who had been scratchy throughout the early stages of the competition, was back in his element with seven sixes and four boundaries. Bairstow’s control was so complete that by the end of the Powerplay, he had struck seven huge sixes, with Shikhar Dhawan (21 off 15 balls) adding another to make it eight in total.

After Wanindu Hasaranga (2/15 in 4 overs) and Shahbaz Ahmed (1/40 in 4 overs) came into play just after Powerplay, RCB was able to stop the flow of runs with some tight wicket-to-wicket bowling. Shahbaz, took down Bairstow as he mistimed one shot and Siraj did well to take the catch. After scoring 83 in the first six overs, the scoring dropped dramatically to 22 in the seventh and tenth overs.
