Female Tennis Players Who Tower Over Most Male Counterparts

Those who follow tennis know the sport has a default elite tag attached to it since its inception. Unlike football, it’s rare to find tennis fans jump up and down with excitement during a match and hoot for their favourite player at the top of their voice. Such classy is the game that even spectators come wearing stylish western formals and maintain a polite demeanor.

The players, on the other hand, have a glamour quotient attached to them. They present themselves in the most elite way inside and outside the court. Call it a preconceived notion but female tennis players are considered the most glamourous athletes in the world. And many of them can legitimately be called so because of their stunning model-like physique and incredible style sense. Few of the female athletes are so tall and slender that they can give any professional model a run for their money.
If you want to know who are the tallest female athletes in the game of tennis, here is the list:

1. Eva Hrdinova (6ft’ 3in’’)

We do have other Czech females on our list, and she is every bit of a deserving candidate. Be it her super duper height of 1.91m or a glittering career with three singles title and 19 doubles title on the ITF circuit, this Czech prodigy of 32 is as good as one can get. Coached by Jiri Hrdina, she takes her off-court training with Karel Rubas, Petr Pech. Her favorite shots include forehand, serve, with her favorite surfaces being hard, grass. She does indeed deliver and that too in style. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, this athlete has the tallest height among female tennis players.

2. Akgul Amanmuradova (6ft’ 3in’’)

At the top of the list in the Tallest Female Tennis Players till Date, we have Akgul Amanmuradova. Even though her height is equal to Eva Hrdinova, she is at number 1 due to alphabetic sequencing. This has nothing to do with her talent as an athlete or her incorrigible spirit.  She joins Hrdinova in the list of tallest professional female tennis player on the WTA tour.

Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan is measured to be at 6 feet 3 inches tall. Not only is she a very very tall tennis player, but she is also outstanding at her job.

3. Karolina Pliskova (6ft’ 2in’’)

Noted for her powerful serve and forceful groundstrokes, Karolína peaked at world no. 3 in 2017. She won the Australian Open junior title in 2010 and reached her first career Grand Slam final at the 2016 US Open, where she came runner up in three sets.

4. Lindsay Davenport(6ft’ 2in’’)

World no. 1 on eight different occasions, Olympic gold medal winner and International Tennis Hall of Fame honouree. Former tennis pro Lindsay is also remembered for playing Venus Williams in the longest and arguably most riveting women’s final in Wimbledon history.

5. Maria Sharapova(6ft’ 2in’’)
The hottest name in the game of tennis, Maria Sharapova is actually the tallest woman in the sport too. With the stunning height of 6.2ft, the Russian star is taller than many of the top male tennis players too. The former World No 1 has been out of form for quite sometime now and is currently dating British businessman Alexander Gilkes.

6. Helena Sukova (6ft’ 2in’’)

Helena is one of the popular former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. In her career, she won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles in total, 9 of which came in women’s doubles and 5 of them in mixed doubles. She has also been Grand Slam singles runner-up for 4 times and won 10 singles titles and 69 doubles titles.

7. Polona Hercog (6ft’ 1in’’)

Polona Hercog is a Slovenian professional tennis player. Her career-high WTA rankings are No. 35 in singles and No. 56 in doubles. She has wonWTA Tour title 5 times- three in singles and two in doubles. Hercog has also been very successful on the ITF Women’s Circuit, winning 14 singles and 5 doubles titles.

8. Dinara Safina (6 ft.’ 1in”)

Another Russian magnificence in our list. Dinara Safina too used to be a former World No. 1 Russian professional tennis player. With a remarkable height of 1.88 meters and her particular brilliance when it came to the French Open, this tall and slender beauty won many hearts while she let her racket speak for herself.

9.Mona Barthel (6 ft.’ 1in”)

Mona is a German tennis player who has been very successful in her career and won 4 singles and 3 doubles titles on the WTA tour as well as 5 singles and 1 doubles title on the ITF circuit in her career. In March 2013, She reached world number 23 which is her best singles ranking.

10. Venus Williams (6 ft.’ 1in”)

She has a net worth more than most popular sportsters. That must tell you a lot about her magnificent playing style. She is enthusiastic and is known to take all her games seriously. A sportswoman as determined as she is sure to succeed and she is already there!. She is 6 feet 1 inch tall.
