Will Arjun Tendulkar play for MI in IPL 2022?

Where is Arjun Tendulkar? This question is now among every Mumbai Indians (MI) supporter, as the team is on track to conclude the IPL 2022 with the worst record ever.

With MI’s season coming to a finish, fans will be eager to see the other Tendulkar in action, which they haven’t done in two seasons, despite the youngster having been with the team for that long. With only one game remaining, on May 21, against Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians could probably afford to deploy him, even if only as a long-term investment.

MI has had its fair share of young players throughout the years, and 2022 will be no different. Dewald Brevis, a South African Under-19 standout who had a strong start to the IPL 2022 season but faded as the results went against them. Despite Tristan Stubbs’s poor performances for MI, the 21-year-old has been called up to the South Africa squad for the T20 International series against India.

That’s not all, though. The Mumbai Indians have selected Hrithik Shokeen to their team, while Tilak Varma has proven himself as a regular. Arjun Tendulkar is one of the few players in the MI team who has yet to play a game.

MI has experimented with a number of left-arm seamers, with variable results. Jaydev Unadkat had a fantastic season, whereas Tymal Mills had a terrible one. Daniel Sams is the only one in the group who has returned, and his batting skills have proven to be just as vital as his bowling. Tendulkar’s left arm might be used if the squad changes for the 2023 season, which is likely given the form and shape of many senior players as well as much of the younger group.
