The renowned singer KK has died at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, best known by his stage name KK, passed away on Tuesday in Kolkata after a performance. The function was organized by a college at Nazrul Mancha, when, KK was feeling unwell and complained of uneasiness, he returned to his hotel in Esplanade after singing for about an hour. The singer was taken to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where the doctors declared him brought dead. 

One unnatural death report has been filed for KK. The post-mortem is likely to take place today in the afternoon, once his family has given consent. The family will take the mortal remains back to Mumbai. KK has two children and a wife in the family. Many glimpses of his final performance have been shared on social media.

KK’s fans have been expressing their condolences on social media since his death. Videos of his last concert are the most shared. Bollywood has deeply saddened by the death. From film actor, Akshay Kumar to many television stars expressed their condolences on KK’s death.

KK has many songs in different languages

The 53-year-old singer has recorded songs in several languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali. With songs like “Zindagi Do Pal Ki” from Kites, “Aankhon Mein Teri” from Om Shanti Om, “Khuda Jaane” from Bachna Ae Haseeno, and “Tadap Tadap” from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, He made a different identity in the music industry.

Twitter reacted to KK’s death

Narendra Modi expressed his condolences through Twitter, “Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti,” he wrote.

Bollywood star Ajay Devgn also tweeted, “It seems so ominous. The news of KK’s death that too right after a live performance is terrible. He sang for films I was associated with, so his loss seems that much more personal. RIP #KrishnakumarKunnath. Prayers & condolences to his family”.
