Rishabh Pant loses his cool after a wrong decision by the umpires in IPL 2022

On Friday, Rishabh Pant requested batters Rovmen Powell and Kuldeep Yadav to leave the field owing to a no-ball rule, breaking a violent disagreement between the Delhi Capitals and the Rajasthan Royals. The incident happened during the chase’s last over when the on-field umpire elected not to submit a no-ball ruling to the third umpire.

McCoy missed his line on the day and threw a high full throw, pushing the stakes even higher. Rovman Powell, who had previously smashed two sixes off two balls, hammered this delivery into the stands as well, bringing the total to 18 runs off three balls. The Capitals dugout was furious with the umpires for failing to call the no-ball, and all of them, including captain Rishabh Pant, were on their feet.

Shane Watson and Pravin Amre, for instance, spoke with the fourth umpire before asking for the judgment to be overturned. Pant even opted to call back his batters from the ground after the judgment was upheld. Even Jos Buttler, who was fielding at the boundary line, was dissatisfied with the proceedings after a spat with the DC captain.

Finally, after speaking with the umpires, Rishabh Pant decided to send Amre, a member of the coaching staff, onto the field to argue the umpire’s decision. The on-field call was maintained, and the Royals went on to win the game despite replays revealing that it was a waist-high no-ball.

A fine battle between the two sides concluded in a nasty argument. On social media, a video of the same has gone viral.
