Ravindra Jadeja will likely not play the remaining season of the IPl 2022

Ravindra Jadeja, the former captain of Chennai Super Kings who missed the team’s last match against Delhi Capitals due to an injury, may not be able to play in the rest of the tournament. For CSK to have a shot at a playoff spot, they must win their remaining three matches and hope RCB and RR lose their remaining games.

While fielding during CSK’s game against Royal Challenges Bangalore, Jadeja appeared to have injured his arm, so he did not appear in the team’s game with DC. The spin-bowling all-rounder Shivam Dube replaced him in the match against DC. After facing Mumbai Indians on Thursday, CSK will face Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals.

Ravindra Jadeja is in poor form

CSK have been concerned with Jadeja’s own form, apart from his injury, since the Saurashtra all-rounder has managed just 116 and five wickets in 10 matches so far. India’s team selection for the 2022 T20 World Cup, which will take place later this year, has already come under scrutiny due to his poor performance in IPL 2022. Earlier reports of a break may be just what India’s terribly out of form Jadeja needs as he prepares for the home series against South Africa and the subsequent England tour.

IPL 2022 Playoff so far

Eight teams are now competing for the remaining three playoff spots after Mumbai Indians were eliminated and Gujarat Titans qualified for the playoffs. With 16 points, Lucknow Super Giants are a strong favorite to win the play-offs, even though one out of two wins are needed to do so.

Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore both have 14 points, and are 4 points ahead of their nearest competitors DC, SRH, KKR, and PBKS, who all have 10. There are two games remaining for RCB, while RR have three. There are two games remaining for KKR in the league, while there are three left for the rest.

Why did Jadeja leave his captaincy?

Ravindra Jadeja stepped down as the captain of CSK because he wanted to focus more on his game. He and the team thought that it was best if Dhoni leads the team. Jadeja was part in discussions with the team management, along with head coach Stephen Fleming and Dhoni. Jadeja ultimately realized that it was in his best interests to stand aside.

Why did Dhoni get the franchise back? Team management is thought to have judged that he was still the best person to lead and that there was no other option. For the time being, the organization has decided to focus on the 2022 season, and will revisit the leadership issue once the planning for the following year begins.

Jadeja, 33, took over this season despite having little experience leading at the highest level. His only previous representative cricket experience was as captain of the India Under-19s during a series in 2007. He had never captained a senior side full-time before. In eight games, he has 112 runs at 22.40 average with a strike rate of 121.73, and five wickets at 42.60 with an economy rate of 8.19.
