Punjab CM Orders Night Curfew From Dec 1, Doubles Fine For Not Wearing Mask

As a result of the rising number of Coronavirus cases in the state, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has ordered night curfew in all towns and cities of Punjab w.e.f  December 1 with the timing being 10 PM to 5 AM. The order further states that Wedding Venues, Hotels and Restaurants will close at 9:30 PM and the restrictions would be reviewed on December 15. After Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Punjab has now become the 6th state to impose night curfew in the wake of rising cases due to Covid 19.


Now Pay Double Fine
The Punjab Government has also doubled the fine to Rs 1000 for not obeying Covid 19 Protocol like not wearing mask or refusing to maintain social distance. Cases in Punjab have almost reached 1.5 lakh and now the State Government would look to take all possible measures to prevent spike in the number of cases.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Union Government had issued fresh Guidelines for surveillance, Containment and caution due to the Pandemic. The Union Home Ministry had mandated the states to stricty enforce containment measures, standard operating procedures on various activities and COVID appropriate behaviour and exercise caution.
