IPL Player Rinku Singh to Set Up Hostel for Young Cricketers in Need

Indian Premier League (IPL) player Rinku Singh, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders, is taking a step towards giving back to the sport that changed his life forever. The 25-year-old left-hand batter from Uttar Pradesh is setting up a hostel for upcoming cricketers who are struggling to make it big due to financial constraints. Despite not being one of the highest-earning cricketers in the league, Rinku is investing in the hostel to provide a smooth ride for talented youngsters.

Rinku’s hostel will have 14 rooms, and each room can accommodate four trainees. A shed, pavilion, and separate toilets are also being constructed. Trainees can have food at the canteen being run at the place. The hostel will cost around `50 lakh, and the whole expenditure will be borne by Rinku.

The hostel will help upcoming cricketers to get accommodation at a minimal rate, as most of them are from modest backgrounds. The Academy currently has trainees hailing from nearby cities and living in rented houses. Rinku’s dream will turn into a reality when the hostel becomes operational next month.

Rinku’s decision to set up the hostel is especially noteworthy given his own background. He comes from a modest family where his father delivered LPG cylinders and his brothers had to work to make ends meet. Despite the hardships he faced, Rinku pursued his passion for cricket and made a name for himself in the IPL. Now, he wants to help other young cricketers who may be facing similar challenges.

Where is the hostel being built?

The hostel is being built at the Aligarh Cricket School and Academy, which is run by Rinku’s childhood coach Masooduz-Zafar Amini. Amini has been training Rinku for around 12-13 years and has witnessed his struggles and rise to fame. The academy currently has trainees from nearby cities who live in rented houses, so the hostel will be a welcome addition for those who need affordable accommodation.

Apart from providing accommodation, the hostel will also have a small gymnasium where trainees can work on their fitness. This will be a valuable resource for young cricketers who may not have access to proper training facilities in their hometowns.

Rinku’s eldest sibling, Sonu, will look after the day-to-day affairs of the hostel. Sonu has been a source of support for Rinku throughout his cricketing journey, and the two have worked together delivering gas cylinders to support their family.

The hostel is expected to be inaugurated by Rinku once he returns from the IPL. It is a testament to his commitment to giving back to the sport that has given him so much. By setting up the hostel, Rinku is not only providing a platform for young cricketers to pursue their dreams but also inspiring others to give back to their communities in meaningful ways.
