IPL 2022: Kieron Pollard fails to showcase his credentials in crunch situation

Kieron Pollard of MI was unable to take his team over the finish line as RR won the match by 23 runs. He had come at the crease in the 14th over when the team needed 65 runs in 6 overs. It was expected that he can play a blinder of a knock. But he was under pressure as from one end the wickets kept on falling. He is known to be the fear-factor but this time the pressure got the better of him.

Pollard fails to connect

Pollard is one of the senior players in the batting line up. His turbulent nature makes him one of the dangerous asset to have.  In the past, he has single-handedly won matches. He is also a lethal bowler to have as while bowling he took the wicket of Sanju Samson.

MI Continue their losing streak

MI now have lost both the games in the marquee tournament. Both of the matches were day games which meant that MI haven’t tasted any night games yet. MI are desperately missing Suryakumar Yadav who isn’t 100 % fit. His presence means that the top order can notch up good total where his 40-60 runs can change the dimensions of the match.

MI need a better show from bowlers as conceding 193 runs isn’t a good performance by any means. All in all, it is often seen that MI are slow starters; who knows that they win 4-5 in a row and stamp their authority as IPL is a completely different ball game.
