IPL 2021 Phase 2: Which Teams are Likely to Make it to Playoffs

Phase 2 of Indian Premier League 2021 has begun in United Arab Emirates. Earlier the tournament had to be stopped in between due to large no. of Covid cases in India and some players also revealed to be Covid positive inspite of bio bubble. But the venue has been changed and the entertainment has begun with people also allowed to enter stadium to watch match as the Covid Situation has improved. Fans are excited to see their favourite stars in the shortest format of the game once again.

Where do Teams Stand in IPL 2021-

MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings is at number 1 in points table with a comfortable win over Mumbai Indians in first game of phase 2. Like Chennai, Rishabh Pant led Delhi Capitals have also won 6 matches out of 8 but CSK have a better run rate. The good news for DC is that Shreyas Iyer is also back in the mix.

This year IPL has turned out to be one of the best seasons for Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore. Although they have lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in their first encounter of IPL 2021 Phase 2, they still have a good chance of making it to playoffs.

Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians would be looking to win their 3rd consecutive IPL Title. They have 8 points from seven matches and are currently standing at number 4 on points table.

Kolkata Knight Riders Looked out of contention but the big win against Royals Challengers Bangalore means there is a glimmer of hope if they keep playing like this in the next few matches as well.

Rajasthan Royals have been dealt with a big blow as their key foreign players Ben Stokes,Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer and Andrew Tye have all pulled out of the tournament due to some reason.

Punjab Kings are in a difficult situation as they need to win five of the remaining six games to make it to playoffs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a very tough season so far managing to win only one game out of seven and now Jonny Bairstow’s pullout of the tournament is another bad news.
