Vintage India Ruin West Indies in a Spellbound T20I Series

India now are on a 8 Match winning streak. Suryakumar Yadav was the leading run scorer of the T20I Series with 107 runs. He was named as the Man of the Series. His blitzkrieg knock in 3rd T20I was a treat to watch. The hosts would be delighted as they found a proper middle order batter. The left handed elegant Venkatesh Iyer smashed 92 runs in the T20I Series. Throughout the T20I Series Venkatesh played brilliant cameos to give India a chance. The swashbuckling left handed batter had a quiet Series as he scored 71 runs in 3 Matches. The dashing batter Virat Kohli silenced all the Critics by scoring a half century knock in the 2nd T20I match. There are still some concerns over  his form but he is showing signs of the Old Virat Kohli. Nevertheless a billion people would  be happy that they convincingly won T20I Series against an unpredictable West Indies line up.

Harshal Patel was the leading wicket-taker for India with 5 wickets. He was absolutely superb in death bowling as he along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar were bang on target with cutters & Yorker. The leggie Ravi Bishnoi made his debut. He had a dream run as he took 3 wickets. Most of the times he was bowling a wrong-un. He took 3 wickets in 3 matches. All in all India displayed excellent bowling especially while bowling at the death as defending 30 odd runs in 3 overs is a remarkable achievement.

West Indies would be amazed that they found a proper batter in the form of Nicholas Pooran. He was the leading run-scorer with 184 runs as he struck 3 consecutive half-centuries. Rovman Powell was using brute force to shun the bowler. He scored 95 runs in 3 matches which included 1 half century. The majority of runs were scored by these two batters, while the Captain Pollard had a forgettable outing as he scored 32 runs in 3 matches. West Indies now need to work out their performance as their brand of cricket doesn’t look promising.

Roston Chase was the leading wicket-taker with 6 scalps to his name. He is a complete package whose deliveries are tough to pick. West Indies bowlers had a forgettable T20I Series as none of them performed to their potential.  The spinners too failed to grab any big wickets. West Indies look a team in progress who needs to make big strides quickly as time is running out for them.
