IND vs PAK: Records that Virat Kohli can Break in Asia Cup Match

All eyes will be on the returning Virat Kohli when Team India begin their Asia Cup 2023 campaign on Saturday. Kohli has played some vital knocks against Pakistan in the past and will look to repeat that again in the much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash. On the other hand, Pakistan started their Asia Cup 2203 campaign with a solid win over Nepal.

King Kohli can become the 2nd Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar to complete 13k runs in the ODI Format. In addition to this, Kohli is also 418 runs away from smashing 26,000 runs in international cricket. He can surpass Mahela Jayawardene (25,957) to be at number 4 in the highest run scorers list in international cricket. The top 3 are Sachin Tendulkar (34,357), Kumar Sangakkara (28,016) and Ricky Ponting (27,483).

In a total of ten 50-over Asia Cup innings, Kohli has scored 613 runs, including three centuries and one half century. As far as the T20 format of the Asia Cup is concerned, the Delhi born cricketer has amassed 429 runs at an impeccable average of 85.80 across nine innings.
Kohli played his first Asia Cup back in 2010. While Kohli could not perform as per expectations, India did win the tournament by beating Sri Lanka in the final. Kohli made only 67 runs at an average of 16.75 in 4 innings. His highest score was a mere 28 runs off 34 balls against Sri Lanka in the final.

In 2012 Asia cup, Kohli was in superb form and performed well against every opposition, ending up as the highest run scorer of the series. His 183 against Pakistan is still considered as one of the best knocks ever as he helped India chase down 330 runs on a tricky pitch in Dhaka.

In 2016,  Asia Cup was played in the T20 format for the first time. India entered the 2016 Asia Cup as  favorites and eventually won the tournament by beating Bangladesh in the final match in Dhaka. Kohli, in particular, was in the form of his life and made 153 runs at an average of 76.50 in  four innings in the series.
Kohli did not play in Asia cup 2018.
Kohli was in poor form when he entered the 2022 Asia Cup . He also had not played international cricket since 2 months but he made a remarkable comeback. He went on to become the second-highest run-getter in the tournament, with 276 runs at an average of 92.00 and at a strike rate of 147.59.

Overall, Kohli is the fourth-highest run-getter for India in Asia Cup with 613 runs in 11 ODIs at an healthy average of 61.30. Kohli also has the most centuries by an Indian batter in the Asia Cup.

Kohli is regarded as one of the greatest batters India has ever produced.As far as his numbers against Pakistan are comcerned, he has performed well against the arch rivals. In a total of 13 matches against Pakistan, Kohli has scored 536 runs at an average of 48.72 which includes two tons.
