The highest T20 team score in cricket has been jointly held by Afghanistan and the Czech Republic, both of whom scored an impressive 278/3 and 278/4 respectively. Afghanistan achieved the feat against Ireland in February 2019, while the Czech Republic did it six months later against Turkey in the Continental Cup.

Melbourne Stars secured the third spot in the highest T20 team score list by scoring 273/2 against Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League 2021-22. Titans also made it to the top five by scoring 271/3 against Knights in a league phase match of the CSA T20 Challenge 2022-23.

The Indian Premier League has been a breeding ground for some of the best T20 players in the world. Chris Gayle, one of the most destructive batsmen in the format, led the charge when he scored a staggering 175 not out off just 66 balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors India in 2013. Bangalore posted a mammoth total of 263/5 and won the match by a whopping 130 runs.

The Indian cricket team has also been a force to reckon with in T20 cricket, and they registered their highest T20I score of 260/5 against Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017. The then-skipper Rohit Sharma led the charge, scoring an unbeaten 118, as India won the match by 88 runs.

Mumbai, one of the most successful domestic teams in Indian cricket, also made it to the list by scoring 258/4 against Sikkim in the 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
