DC vs KXIP IPL 2020 Match Preview and Predicted XI | Will Pant Play?

In Match 38 of Indian Premier League 2020, it will be KL Rahul led Kings XI Punjab up against Shreyas Iyer led Delhi Capitals at Dubai international cricket stadium. After their historic win against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, KXIP are very much in contention for a playoff spot and they will need to keep winning and expect other results also  to go in their favour. Kings XI have had a number of close contests this season and have just given it away during the later stages of the match on most occasions. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals have done pretty well till now in this season but injuries to Amit Mishra and then Rishabh Pant have been a major worry as it means that Shimron Hetmyer also has to be excluded from the playing 11 to bring in the wicket-keeper Alex Carey.

DC vs KXIP Match 1 of IPL 2020
During the first match between these two sides in this season, Delhi Capitals prevailed in a Super Over Thriller where all-rounder Marcus Stoinis held his nerve and played a superb knock under pressure to tie the game first and then Kagiso Rabada bowled excellently in the super over to clinch the victory for his side.

Changes to Line-up
There is a good news coming in if you are a Delhi Capitals fan that Rishabh Pant is fit again and is available for selection against Kings XI. This means that Shimron Hetmyer will also be included in playing 11 if Rishabh plays and this strengthens their middle order significantly. So Ajinkya Rahane and Alex Carey are likely sit on bench now and may not get another chance this season.  As far as Kings XI is concerned , Chris Jordan may be replaced by James Neesham and apart from that any other change is unlikely. Although, Maxwell has failed with the bat this season but in recent matches he has started to contribute with the ball as well and has not done too badly.

Predicted XI for Both sides-

Delhi Capitals: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer,Rishabh pant,Shimron Hetmyer,Marcus Stoinis,Axar Patel,Ravichandran Ashwin,Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tushar Deshpande
Kings XI Punjab: Chris Gayle, KL Rahul,Mayank Agarwal, Nicolas Pooran, Deepak Hooda,Glenn Maxwell, James Neesham/Chris Jordan,Murugan Ashwin,Arshdeep Singh,Mohammad Shami,Ravi Bishnoi

Pitch

The pitch at Dubai international cricket stadium is kind of neutral and has favoured both batsman and bowlers. One notable thing here is that team which has batted first has won on most occasions as Dubai  wicket tends to slow down during the second innings. So toss will also play a crucial role in deciding the outcome of the match as whichever team wins the toss will definitely be looking to bat first and gain the early advantage.

Well, its a very interesting battle going on for the fourth spot in the points table. While Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are almost certain to qualify for the playoffs, the fight is for the that last spot. Kolkata Knight Riders may seem favourite at the moment but in this league you never know hat will happen next. Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab are also vying for that fourth position but these teams need to win all their remaining matches and then hope for some good luck.
