Bollywood Couples who continued to be Friends after Divorce

After Divorce, ex-couples mostly go through one major dilemma- to stay friends or not? Breakups can give sleepless nights, pain and can take a lot of time to overcome. But a divorce does not mean that the two people cannot be friends afterwards. Bollywood celebrities are always grabbing headlines with making and breaking relationships and being friends after breakup or divorce. When actors work together, it becomes easy for them to fall in love. Their surrounding brings them closer but after sometime issue arise and they may not be able to live together. While there have been many stars that never looked back at their past, there are also some actors that believe in lets be friends notion. While it’s quite normal to hear about the ending of various Bollywood relationships, thankfully, it is also becoming increasingly common to hear about ex-partners to continue to remain friends long after their divorce. That depends on the understanding and if the ex-couple have kids whom they need to co-parent, then they will need to keep personal differences aside and come to an agreement atleast for their kids. Many of the Bollywood celebrities are actually friends with their ex-spouse. Let’s take a look at former couples who remained good friends after divorce-

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan
Hrithik and Sussanne officially divorced in 2014. They were a power couple of B-town and the news of their divorce sounded unbelievable. Hrithik and Sussanne were together for 17 years with two kids. But, in 2014, they ended their marriage.The former couple continues to stand tall in their highs and lows and going by their co-parenting, it seems like the couple has hardly been apart. However, they share a cordial relationship and have each other’s back. With two lovely kids, Hrehaan and Hridhaan, Hrithik and Sussanne ensure to spend quality time with them.

Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora
It came as a shock when Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora announced their separation in 2016 and the couple continue to spend quality time with their son. Malaika and Arbaaz were also a power couple in Bollywood. However, they always get together when it comes to son Arhaan.  Malaika has moved on with Arjun Kapoor and even opened her own Yoga studio in Mumbai. Malaika had once said that Arbaaz is a part of their family and the father of her child. Certain equations did not change overnight. She further said that the things that happened should remain between them. Malaika’s sister Amrita is always seen rooting for former brother in law.

Kalki Koechlin and Anurag Kashyap
Anurag and Kalki fell in love in 2009, married in 2011. Anurag and Kalki remained in marriage only for four years.  And divorced in 2015 . The duo is one of the few who maintain cordial relationship. Since their divorce, Anurag and Kalki are often spotted together. Anurag had said once that the two stay in touch and are still good friends. He further said that he was very happy for Kalki and a lot of people did not give the credit that was due to her.

Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani
After being married for 16 years, Farhan Akhtar and Adhuna Bhabani filed for divorce in 2016. It was surprising as there was no hint of any marital turmoil in their lives. However, they still maintain an amicable relationship with each other and  often comment on each other’s social media posts. Adhuna had fallen in love again for Dino Moreo’s brother Nicole and Farhan-Adhuna released a joint statement of their separation. Farhan and Adhuna said that they had mutually and peacefully decided to separate. Further they said that their children will remain their priority and it is immensely important to them as responsible parents that they are protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare.

Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta
After 16 years of being married, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta called it quits in 2002.But the two have remained cordial ever since and even come together for family functions and movie promotions. Reena is also good friends with Aamir’s current wife Kiran. Aamir wed Reena  in 1986 when he was new to Bollywood industry and the duo separated in 2002. Reena is the mother of Aamir’s older two children. Although he subsequently got involved with Kiran Rao, never for once did he let that strain his equation with Reena. The two famously partied together for Aamir’s 50th birthday as well.

Ranveer Shorey and Konkana Sen Sharma
Ranveer Shorey and Konkana Sen Sharma married in 2013 and got divorced in 2015 only after two years of their marriage. But this couple is a prime example of being in a ‘healthy’ relationship with each other after the separation and continue to successfully co-parent their son, Haroon. They  have not only remained on friendly terms and share the responsiblities of their son, but Ranveer was also a part of Konkona’s directorial debut, Death in the Gunj. Ranvir had even told  in an interview how he and Konkana successfully co-parent their son. He even got an apartment next to Konkana so that their son Haroon did not have to too much problem meeting both the parents. He had said that co-parenting is easy. You just have to be mature enough to work together, mature enough to keep your professional and personal life apart and that the duo had done just that. Ranvir and Konkona’s friendship is what all divorced couples should couples especially those who are co-parenting. Both of them have successfully managed to change all the stereotypes attached to marriage.

Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan
Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan married in 1991 and divorced in 2004. The decision of ending the 13 year old relationship shocked everyone. Despite being married to Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif’s relationship with Amrita Singh has been cordial and both of them have successfully brought their two kids together as parents.. The couple is still good friends with each other and shares a mutual respect for each other. In fact, Kareena Kapoor Khan also encourages their friendship and shares a good bond with Amrita’s kids.
