BCCI announced India’s Squad against South Africa, Umran Malik joins the Team
The team for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa was announced by India’s Board of Control for Cricket on Sunday. KL Rahul has been named captain in the shortest format of the game, while Umran Malik has been picked up for the first time. Rishabh Pant has been given the place of the vice-captain of the team.

South Africa’s tour of India Schedule
The first T20I match is on 9 June at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
Second T20I match is on 12 June at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack
Third T20I match is on 14 June at Visakhapatnam
Fourth T20I match is on 17 June at Rajkot
Fifth T20I match is on 19 June at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
Senior players are given rest
Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and M Shami have been rested, while Dinesh Karthik makes his T20I comeback after a great showing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2022. After a lengthy hiatus, Kuldeep Yadav, one of the best bowlers in the league stage of IPL 15, returned to the side.
In addition, openers, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Venkatesh Iyer, and Ishan Kishan were picked in the team. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel are the team’s only all-rounders due to Ravindra Jadeja’s unavailability. All eyes are on Umran Malik
Fans are eagerly waiting to see Umran Malik bowl against the South African batsmen. With his speed, it is for sure he will have some wickets to his name. The matter of concern is his experience as he needs to learn more. However, if he proves his worth in this series, he might be even selected for the upcoming World Cup. Therefore, this is really a big time for Umran Malik and he will be looking to take all the advantage he can to place permanently in the Indian team.

England test match will continue
India’s 17-man Test lineup has also been revealed for the delayed fifth Test against England, which will take place at Edgbaston in Birmingham from July 1 to 5. The Test series is presently 2-1 in favor of India.

Injured players
Before the series against South Africa, five Indian players were injured. In IPL 2022, Ravindra Jadeja had a rib ailment, and Deepak Chahar is recovering from a quadricep injury. Those injured include Suryakumar Yadav, Washington Sundar, Harshal Patel, and T Natarajan.
