Adam Milne is ruled out of IPL 2022. CSK replaced him with this player

Adam Milne, the pacer for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has been ruled out of the upcoming IPL 2022, and the team has selected a substitute. Milne only appeared in one match for Chennai in the present Indian Premier League before suffering a hamstring injury.

Matheesha Pathirana as a replacement for Adam Milne

CSK has signed Matheesha Pathirana as a substitute for New Zealand pacer Adam Milne for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. His replacement, Pathirana, is a 19-year-old Sri Lankan medium-pacer who was a member of Sri Lanka’s U19 World Cup squads in 2020 and 2022. He is recognized for his slingy bowling style, which is similar to that of Lasith Malinga. Pathirana was signed for a cost of Rs 20 lakh. He’s only played two T20s thus far.

Bad time for CSK

The Chennai Super Kings have had a poor start to the IPL 2022 season, winning only one game out of six. Prior to the season, the franchise had already made a huge change, with Ravindra Jadeja taking over as captain from MS Dhoni. CSK’s top pacer, Deepak Chahar, has already departed the team.

Chahar tore his quad during a T20I series against the West Indies at home and has been rehabilitating in NCA. Chahar, on the other hand, injured his back during his rehab and was advised to rest for up to six weeks before resuming therapy for the ailment, which forced him to miss more than three months of time.

The reigning champions went on a four-game losing streak until winning against Royal Challengers Bangalore. They were unable to sustain their upward trend, however, as they were defeated by Gujarat Titans in their following encounter. On Thursday, April 21st, they will play the Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
