Non-Reliable Middle-Order

The MI franchise’s middle-order has been not able to finish games. Surya Kumar Yadav and youngster Tilak Varma are the only positives. Kieron Pollard, in particular, has failed to provide valuable innings for his faithful team. Dewald Brewis, also known as Baby AB has played a couple of impressive knocks, but they weren’t enough to win the games.

Weak Pace Attack

Mumbai Indians’ pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has failed to live up to the potential for the franchise. The yorker specialist has managed to take just 4 wickets in 7 matches. Also, he has not got support from other bowlers. Foreign players like Daniel sams and Tymal Mills have conceded many runs and looked decent in most of the matches. Both the players have an economy rate of more than 11.

Opening players fail to get off to a good start

Ishan Kishan, the most expensive player in the IPL 2022 mega auction with a price tag of 15.25 crores, has fallen short of expectations. MI’s captain Rohit Sharma is also out of form. In fact, he is yet to score a fifty this season. The franchise needs them to play big knocks at the start to set up the platforms for Surya Kumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Kieron Pollard to finish off the innings whether it’s setting up big totals or chasing targets.

The five-time winners’ choice to let go of Rahul Chahar at mega auctions has turned out to be a bad decision.
