3. CSK (223/3) vs SRH (2013)

In the 2013 season, CSK clashed with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a thrilling encounter. SRH won the toss and elected to bowl first. CSK’s opening batsmen, Michael Hussey and Murali Vijay, got off to a promising start, building a solid foundation with a 45-run partnership. However, it was Suresh Raina’s entry that turned the tide in CSK’s favor. Raina, accompanied by Hussey, went on to forge a remarkable 133-run partnership for the second wicket.

Hussey contributed a commendable 67 off 42 balls, but it was Raina’s explosive innings that stole the show. The left-hander fell agonizingly short of a century, remaining unbeaten on 99 off just 52 deliveries. With 11 fours and three sixes, Raina’s blistering knock powered CSK to a colossal total of 223/3. SRH’s chase faltered, and they managed only 146/8, resulting in a resounding 77-run victory for CSK.

2. CSK (240/5) vs Kings XI (2008)

In the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008, CSK faced off against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in a high-scoring affair. Having won the toss, CSK opted to bat first. The team endured a shaky start, losing three early wickets with just 62 runs on the board. However, Michael Hussey remained undeterred and played a breathtaking inning to propel CSK to an imposing total. 

Hussey’s unbeaten knock of 116* off a mere 54 deliveries left the opposition astounded. His innings included eight fours and a staggering nine sixes, which powered CSK to a mammoth score of 240/5. 1. CSK (246/5) vs RR (2010)

The 2010 season witnessed a breathtaking clash between CSK and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Chennai. CSK won the toss and elected to bat first, setting the stage for an extraordinary display of batting prowess. Murali Vijay and Mathew Hayden (34) provided a solid start, stitching together a 62-run opening partnership in just 5.5 overs. Vijay carried the momentum forward and went on to form an astonishing 152-run stand for the third wicket with Albie Morkel. 

While Morkel contributed a quickfire 62 off 34 deliveries, Vijay etched his name into IPL history with a magnificent century. The right-handed opener bludgeoned his way to a sensational 127 off only 56 balls, striking 8 fours and an astonishing 11 sixes. Chennai amassed an unprecedented total of 246/5, seemingly insurmountable for their opponents. Although Rajasthan put up a brave fight with notable performances by Naman Ojha (94* off 55) and Shane Watson (60 off 25), they ultimately fell short, finishing at 223/5, 23 runs shy of the target.
