The Kashmir Files likely to surpass Rs 200 Crores, Bachchhan Paandey Sinking

Since its March 11 release, Kashmir Files has had a strong run at the box office. The Kashmir Files is undoubtedly the first and only choice for moviegoers. The movie had a negative impact on Radhe Shyam and Gangubai Kathiawadi, and now Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey is running low.

Breaking Records Each Day

Vivek Agnihotri’s film continues to break box office records with each passing day. The film is currently on course to cross the 200 crore mark. The film’s 12-day total has already surpassed 190 crores. The film is based on the flight of Kashmiri Pandits from Jammu and Kashmir in 1990.

The Kashmir Files has dominated other films

The Kashmir Files had already surpassed other post-pandemic films such as Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sooryavanshi, and 83 by the end of week two. It received 70 crores over the second Holi weekend. As a consequence of strong word of mouth and debate regarding its plot, the film debuted in theatres at a low of 3.55 crore but quickly skyrocketed to huge success.

The Kashmir Files earnings

Tuesday marked the first significant drop in collections for The Kashmir Files. Although the figure is still impressive, it is less than its own standards. According to Box Office India, the film earned Rs. 10.25 crore in 12 days, taking the total to Rs. 190.10 crore. The film’s second-week collection is expected to reach over Rs 100 crore, probably between Rs 105-110 crore, which is 10-15 percent more than its first-week collection of Rs 97 crore. By Thursday, the movie will surpass the Rs 200 crore mark.

Bachchhan Paandey’s downfall

At the same time, Bachchhan Paandey continued to sink in the box office. The movie collected Rs 3,25 crore on Tuesday. The BOI estimates the film’s first-week collections at Rs 47 crore, which means it is doing poorly in the theaters. With SS Rajamouli’s RRR set for release on March 25, it’s unlikely that Akshay’s film will be rescued.
