Rahul-Rohit Duo
India would be extremely proud as the new era under Rahul Dravid & Captain Rohit Sharma is yielding productive results. India recently white-washed Sri Lanka by 3-0 and are now on a 12 match winning streak.
The streak of this T20I victories got started in T20 World Cup 2021 when India beat Afghanistan, Scotland & Namibia. Then BCCI named a New Head Coach in the form of Rahul Dravid and a new Captain Rohit Sharma. India then played T20I Series against the runners up of T20I World Cup New Zealand. India white-washed them by 3-0. Dravid in post-match conference said that the team need to keep their feet on ground. Ravichandran Ashwin mentioned Dravid in a statement by saying that he is bringing joy back in home. Then the Indian Team did remarkably good against West Indies in January. India’s batters got huge runs under their belt, while the bowlers bowled absolutely superb death bowling. All in all, India is making good progress, it would be too early to say but India is heading on a right path for ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
India now has a break in T20I’s till the end of Tata IPL 2022. In June 2022, South Africa is slated to visit India for a series of 5 T20I Matches. That Series would be interesting to see as South Africa is making huge strides in International Cricket. Also ,India should not forget that South Africa won the Test Series from being 0-1 behind to 2-1 in January 2022. South Africa would be delighted as they would face India right before the commencement of T20 World Cup. All in all the main test for Rahul & Rohit would begin from the South Africa Series.
