Team India and Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Shikhar Dhawan is very active on social media. Dhawan does not miss to entertain his fans through funny memes and reels. On Wednesday, Shikhar Dhawan shared a video and photo on his Instagram in which his father can be seen beating this Punjab Kings opener. While sharing the video and photo, Dhawan wrote in the video’s caption, “Knock out by my dad for not qualifying for knock outs”‘
After sharing the video, it got viral and the comment section flooded with lots of comments. Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh praised Dhawan’s father and said, “Bappu tere se bi upar ka actor nikle.. kya baat hai.” Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan and PBKS teammate Harpreet Brar have also reacted to the viral video.

IPL 2022 didn’t bring much success to Punjab Kings (PBKS), but Shikhar Dhawan was spectacular for the team throughout the tournament. Dhawan scored 460 runs in 14 matches with an average of 38.33 and a strike rate of 122.67 for PBKS in this current season of IPL. He scored three half-centuries this season and was Punjab Kings’ leading run-scorer. His best score was 88 not out in the season. The same as past few seasons, he looked consistent and was among the top candidates for the orange cap list.

He also broke multiple records in his debut season for Punjab Kings. In the world’s most successful and popular T20 league, Dhawan became the first batsman to score 1000 runs against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He is only the second batsman after Virat Kohli to cross the 6,000 runs mark in the IPL. The 36 year old is also the first batter to hit 800 boundaries in the history of IPL. Even though Dhawan had an exciting season in the IPL 2022, Punjab Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs. Punjab Kings came in sixth place in the IPL 2022 points table.
Despite his impressive performance in the IPL 2022, Dhawan has not been able to earn a spot in the team for the T20 series against South Africa. He last played in a T20 International match against Sri Lanka in 2021.
