The top-run scorer of the ODI Series was Quinton de Kock. He amassed 229 runs which included 1 century & 1 half century. He continued his love-affair with India as he now has 6 centuries to his name. De Kock took an enormous responsibility of scoring quick runs as thrashing the Indian bowlers all over park was by no means an easy task.  Rassie Van Der Dussen was the 2nd highest run scorer with 218 runs. He too smacked 1 century & 1 half century. Rassie’s game plan was clear as he was ready to pounce on an opportunity. The peculiarity of Rassie’s knock was that he changed gears very quickly. The skipper Temba Bavuma played a magnificent role in triumph. He scored decent 153 runs which included 1 century. Bavuma’s role was clear as he was the Rock in the middle order. He did his role to perfection as scoring a century against India’s heavy weights bowlers is a tough task.

Andile Phelukwayo was the top wicket-taker of the Series with 6 scalps to his name. Phelukwayo’s specialty was his slower ball & cutters. These variations were tough to pick which related to wickets & dot balls. The speedster Lungi Ngidi took 5 wickets in the Series. Wickets were hard to come due to the nature of wicket which required a lot of skills. Tabraiz Shamsi the left arm-chinaman had 4 wickets to his name. Shamsi too wasn’t quite productive yet the bowlers enjoyed a heyday in the 3rd ODI.

All in all, South Africa enjoyed a wonderful ODI Series where they proved that South Africa is still a force to reckon with. In addition, South Africa got invaluable 30 World Super League points.

Shikhar Dhawan was the top -run scorer for India with 169 runs. He amassed 2 half centuries & looked in fine touch. Dhawan was making a comeback after a long injury prone period. Virat Kohli the batter who now plays as a batter had a topsy-turvy ODI Series with the bat. Kohli scored 116 runs which included 2 half centuries. Kohli was looking off color which may be due to the fall-out between him & BCCI. Rishabh Pant the swashbuckling wicket-keeper scored 101 runs which included 1 half century.

Jasprit Bumrah the Yorker sensation took 5 wickets. Bumrah wasn’t quite lethal with the ball as he was taken to the cleaners. The debutant Prasidh Krishna took 3 wickets & showcased his adroit bowling. Yuzvendra Chahal the crafty leg-spinner took a paltry 2 wickets. Chahal was missing his line & length as batters used reverse sweep to distract him.

All in all, India lost ODI Series due to casualness & lack of intent. India won’t mind losing 30 World Super League points as they have automatically Qualified to ICC 2023 World Cup by being the Hosts.
