Rohit Sharma will officially lead India against WI in the series starting from 6^th February. Earlier Rohit was unfit/injured due to which he wasn’t a part of South Africa tour. He will lead India in 3 ODI Matches & in as many as T20I’s.

Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami have been rested from the series.
KL Rahul will be available from 2nd ODI onwards.
R Jadeja is undergoing his final stage of recovery post his knee injury and will not be available for the ODIs and T20Is.
Axar Patel will be available for the T20Is.

The surprise inclusion is of Ravi Bishnoi, who plays for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL. Also, BCCI have gone backwards & brought back Kuldeep Yadav in ODI Format. It was seen earlier in South Africa ODI Series that India’s spinners aren’t that much effective. This move is a tactical one as Kuldeep possesses the fear factor amongst the batters.

Virat Kohli as a Batter

Virat Kohli will play as a batter now for India and will not have additional responsibilty of captaincy. It would be interesting to see how things unfold given Virat’s form as 71^st century wait continues. Virat would be hoping that he gets back to his old groove as he is not doing justice to his talent & reputation.

Analysis of India’s ODI Squad

The squad of India looks promising as there is abundancy of talent. BCCI has named Ruturaj Gaikwad in the squad & he would hope that management gives him a chance. The absence of acrobatic fielder Ravindra Jadeja is a big blow as his presence makes the fielding unit look ultra-active. There is no doubt that India are red hot favorites to bag the ODI Series given the nature of WI team. If given chance, Bishnoi can prove a lethal weapon as his wrong-ones are difficult to pick. Deepak Hooda, Prasidh Krishna & Avesh Khan would be pumped up as they have got a golden chance to represent India.

Analysis of India’s T20I Squad

Venkatesh Iyer would be looking to score big after he missed out on ODI Squad, given the comments by the Legendary Gautam Gambhir; at the same time Iyer would be up to prove his worth. Selectors have shown faith in Harshal Patel after a successful New Zealand Series. The bowling line up of India looks a prominent one as they have got covered all the bases. India will be a force to reckon with as selectors have selected a good crop of spinners in the form of :  Ravi Bishnoi, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar.

India is going to face West Indies for a full white ball tour. The ODI Series is going to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad  & the T20I Series is going to be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This Series is extremely vital for West Indies as 30 World Super League Points are at stake. West Indies have a score to settle as in 2019 India had defeated West Indies by 2-1  in ODI & T20I Series.
