New IPL record by Dwayne Bravo and LSG’s Win Over CSK

Dwayne Bravo, the all-rounder with the Chennai Super Kings, made history by becoming the all-time leading wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League. This is a new IPL record by Dwayne Bravo. During the IPL 2022 encounter against Lucknow Super Giants at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Bravo got past Sri Lanka veteran Lasith Malinga.

Bravo, who was equal for the most wickets with Malinga with 170, removed LSG hitter Deepak Hooda in the 18th over of the innings, breaking the former Mumbai Indians bowler’s record. Bravo’s milestone wicket should have come to a lot sooner if Moeen Ali hadn’t dropped an easy catch off Quinton de Kock.

New IPL record by Dwayne Bravo

Bravo has now taken 171 wickets in 153 IPL games. Malinga, on the other hand, had 170 wickets for the Mumbai Indians in 122 matches. Bravo’s first appearance in the IPL was in 2008 when he came in to replace an injured Malinga in the inaugural season.

Bravo and Malinga are the IPL’s all-time leading wicket-takers, followed by Amit Mishra (166), Piyush Chawla, and Harbhajan Singh. Bravo is also the top wicket-taker in T20 cricket history. In CSK’s first IPL 2022 encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders, he took three wickets.

Bravo’s wickets have come in the final five overs of the innings, accounting for 70% of his total. The right-arm medium pacer, who is noted for bowling a variety of slower deliveries to keep batsmen guessing, also holds the IPL record for most 20th-over wickets. He’s claimed 38 wickets in 58 innings so far.

What did Dwayne Bravo say before the match?

Bravo stated that he does not keep note of such things. But, because it’s such a significant occasion, he’s always been aware of it on social media. He knew he needed four wickets to pass him before the IPL began, but now he only needs one. He is more concerned about his team’s ability to win games and trophies.

LSG vs CSK: LSG won against CSK by six wickets

The game between LSG and CSK was won by LSG by a six-wicket margin. What an incredible pursuit by LSG. 210 seemed excellent, but with Deepak Chahar out and other inexperienced IPL bowlers, it wasn’t a major concern for LSG. KL and Quinton had set a strong footing by just maintaining a good tempo on the chase. CSK were unable to use Pretorius and Bravo until the very end due to their poor start.
