SNAPSHOT: Rassie and Miller delighted after winning the match for South Africa.
South Africa convincingly won the 1st T20I Match against all odds. Miller scored an unbeaten 75 runs in 46 balls which included 7 fours and 5 sixes. He was literally in ultra-aggressive mode and was showing no mercy. On the other hand, Rassie amassed 64 runs in 31 balls which included 4 fours and 5 sixes. He had scored a run-a-ball knock till 30 odd runs and then went into beast mode. He was smashing gigantic sixes and made a statement that South Africa isn’t a finished product. South Africa won the match by 7 wickets and with 5 balls remaining.
The left-handed batter Miller made the most of his experience as he took the attack on spinner Axar Patel. He was playing with a lot of intent as on the other side the right-handed batter Rassie was struggling. Both the batters took time and made sure that they are not losing wickets and slowly started building a partnership.
It looked almost unlikely that South Africa will win as the required run rate was more than 13 runs per over; at the same time, there were no proper batters present after these two batters. All in all, both batters displayed immense great mental application as scoring 13-14 runs per over isn’t an easy task by any means.
The turning point of the match was when the dashing right-handed batter took the attack against the death over specialist Harshal. He shattered the deceptive bowler’s confidence who is considered to be the big thing in World Cricket. All in all, it was a collective effort from both the batters and they made a resounding comeback from 81-3 and showed a never to say die-attitude.
