IPL 2022: Strong contenders to be included in playing XI but didn’t get a chance 

The IPL 2022 league stage matches have concluded with Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Royal Challengers Banglore making the playoffs. The playoff matchups will begin on May 24. This season, 70 matches were played in league stages in which many youngster players impressed the fans with their outstanding performances, while many senior players struggled during the season.

The journey of six IPL teams is over in this year’s IPL but there were four players in these teams who were considered strong contenders but did not get a chance to play a single match in this season of the IPL.

  1. Yash Dhull

Yash Dhull, 19, was the most talked-about player before the start of IPL 2022. The Delhi Capitals bought Yash Dhull for the current season. Under the captaincy of Yash Dhull, India won the Under-19 World Cup in 2022. Following the under-19 World Cup 2022, Yash Dhull played for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy and scored a century in both the innings of the first match but still, he did not get to play any matches in the IPL 2022.

  1. Mohammad Nabi 

This list also includes Mohammad Nabi, one of the best T20 cricket players. This season, Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side. Mohammad Nabi has also played in 17 IPL matches, but he was not even picked to play in the starting XI even once in IPL 2022.

  1. Rajvardhan Hangargekar

The Under 19 World Cup-winning team member Rajvardhan Hangargekar was bought by the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022 for Rs 1.5 crore, but Rajvardhan did not play even one match this season. After the injury of Deepak Chahar, it was believed that Rajvardhan Hungergekar could get a chance in the playing XI, but it did not happen. He was seen sitting on the bench for the whole season.

  1. Arjun Tendulkar

Mumbai Indians’ young player Arjun Tendulkar did not get a chance to be included in the playing XI this year as well. The fans kept on hoping that Arjun would get a chance soon, but this did not happen even till the last match. Arjun Tendulkar is a part of Mumbai Indians from the IPL 2021, but he has not been made part of the team’s playing XI even once in these two seasons.
