IPL 2022: Pat Cummins fabulous return after being benched by KKR

Cummins continues his good form against MI

KKR’s Fast Bowler recently made a strong statement that he is too good a player to be sitting on the bench. Cummins bowled an extremely vital 15th over when the game was evenly balanced. MI required 66 runs to win in 6 overs. He got rid of the million-dollar baby Ishan, Murugan, and Sams and had the figures of 3 wickets for 22. That over made sure that KKR is still in the race for the play-offs. KKR won the match by a big margin of 52 runs.

Never to say die attitude from KKR

KKR had only 166 runs to defend where they knew that one good phase of 10 overs can end their tournament. In 2021, KKR had made it to the playoffs after being at the bottom of the points table. Shreyas Iyer made sure that he is using his bowlers smartly and most importantly the use of Narine was pivotal. He astonished everyone by giving the ball to Russell before the death overs. KKR still have a slim chance to make it to the playoffs but their fate lies in other teams’ hands.

What lies ahead for MI

Mumbai Indians have had a terrible season where they have been defeated by every team. The likes of Pollard, Rohit, and Ishan need to stick to the crease and play long innings which are badly missing. Their next clash is against CSK which is the EL Classico of IPL, the last time when these two teams clashed there was a thriller where the legendary MS Dhoni finished the match in a style. CSK are still in the Tata IPL 2022 where they are too much dependent on others. Nevertheless, CSK vs MI will be an exciting and grueling encounter.
