IPL 2022: Pant Reveals the Reason behind not taking DRS against Tim David

Delhi Capitals Captain Pant was unhappy after his team’s loss against Mumbai Indians. The match was literally a knock-out match for DC.  On the very 1st ball, there was an appeal for a catch behind for Tim; where the Umpire failed to recognize a spike; Pant was eager for a review but he didn’t get any support from the rest of the team members. At that point of time, DC had 2 reviews remaining.

Pant’s blunder in Captaincy

Later, in the post match presentation, he said “I thought there was something but everyone standing in the circle was not convinced enough so I was asking them ‘should we go up and at the end, I didn’t take the review,”

The decision of not taking the review cost DC a spot in the play-offs. That wicket could have been the turning point as there was no proper batter after him who could have won the match for MI. Earlier in 2021 Play-offs, Pant had given the ball to  Tom Curran the ultimate over instead Rabada and in the end CSK defeated DC. It looks like the left handed batter should not be forced into leading the team. He didn’t score a single 50 throughout the tournament which clearly indicates that his form has taken a dip.

Tim proves his Credentials once again

MI pinch hitter Tim David made sure that DC is not making a comeback in the game. He went berserk as he played a cameo of 34 runs in 11 balls which included 4 gigantic sixes. The Scintillating Batter has shown his worth by playing dashing cameos and he had even smashed T Natarajan of SRH for 4 monstrous sixes. He has got tremendous experience by playing in all the leagues around the World . Cricket Experts and Analysts are saying to Cricket Australia to pick him for the Mega Event ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia in this October-November.
