IPL 2022 Final: Riyan Parag Once Again Trolled for ‘Attitude’ On Social Media

The team had shown a great game throughout the season and made it to the final, but the team had to face defeat by 7 wickets in the final match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemdabad. Riyan Parag was criticized again

Riyan Parag was once again criticized by Twitter trolls for his woeful batting performance in the IPL final, where he only managed to score 15 runs from 15 balls. Some fans thought Parag should have gone for big shots in the final over, but instead, he played many dot balls. Riyan Parag has been mocked on social media several times throughout the tournament for his “attitude.”

Riyan got the typical backlash on Twitter after dropping Rajat Patidar in the second qualifier against RCB in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. It was nothing new, as the RR youngster is often get criticized on Twitter for his “attitude.” He was also criticized for failing to score good runs for the team. But besides this, team bowling coach Lasith Malinga has backed the player, praising his fielding skills.

Riyan’s controversy against RCB

He was also involved in a controversy during the match against RCB in the league stages when Riyan and Harshal Patel had some heated exchange of words on the field when Parag was batting in the death overs. Later, Harshal Patel refused to shake hands with Parag after the match. 

This 20-year-old player was also seen lashing out at teammate and senior off-spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin during a match, fans were also furious after seeing his attitude and started scolding him for his misbehavior on social media.

Riyan had a terrible IPL 2022 season. He failed to impress with either the bat or the ball this year. He has played in 17 IPL matches where he scored only 183 runs at a poor average of 16.64 and bowled only 4 overs throughout the season, taking just 1 wicket and spending runs at an economy rate of 14.75.  After the defeat of Rajasthan Royals against Gujrat Titans in the finals, fans are raising the demand to exclude him from the team before the next season.
