IPL 2021 PBKS vs RR: Kartik Tyagi Shines, Rahman’s No-Balls Ignored

Youngster Kartik Tyagi managed to defend four runs of the last over helping Rajasthan Royals clinch a nail-biting two-run victory over Punjab Kings in their opening IPL game of Phase 2 at Dubai international cricket stadium on Tuesday. This game looked one sided and with only 4 runs required and two set batsman playing, no one would have thought that Rajasthan could win it. But then the imaginable happened and KL Rahul and other PBKS players were left shocked in the dugout.

Mustafizur Rahman No-Balls

The Punjab fans looked disappointed as Mustafizur Rahman had bowled 2 no-balls in the 19th over. Even the commentators looked surprised as the 3rd umpire did not notice that at all and this could have changed the result of the match.

Rajasthan scored 185 in their 20 overs  with useful knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Evin Lewis and Mahipal Lomror. At one stage , it looked like Rajasthan will easily cross the 200 mark but then Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep bowled beautifully in the death overs to restrict them to 185. In reply, Punjab got a very good start and KL Rahul-Mayank Agarwal managed a century partnership at a very good run rate. After Rahul and Agarwal got dismissed, Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram were going well until the last over where the team lost the wicket of Pooran and Deepak Hooda while Markram was left stranded at the non-striker end.
