IPL 2020: Big Blow for DC, Amit Mishra to miss entire season

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be up against Delhi Capitals in match 19 of Indian Premier League on Monday. The match will be played at Dubai international cricket stadium where there is something for the bowlers as well as the batsman. A lot will also depend on the toss as the side which wins the toss will most likely be batting first as majority of the matches at this ground have been won by the side batting first. Both teams have had a good start to the 13th season of IPL and have won 3 out of 4 games so far. While Bangalore is at number 3, Delhi is at number 2 position in points table and whichever team wins today will move to the top in the IPL 2020 points table.

Key batsman returning to form
RCB have a good news that their captain Virat Kohli finally got a good score in the previous match and that is not good sign if you are RCB opposition team. AB de Villiers is already in good touch and if you have both of these top batsman in good form, it can become almost impossible for the opposition team to stop them. For Delhi Capitals, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw are providing good start in almost every game. Everyone saw how captain Shreyas Iyer hammered the KKR bowlers all over the park in previous match and to add to that Rishabh Pant also finally got amongst runs, scoring a quick fire 38 of just 17 deliveries.

Likely changes to playing XI
Both the teams have been doing well and would be reluctant in making too many changes to the winning combination. Delhi Capitals will be forced to make one change which is the replacement for Amit Mishra who got injured during the last match against Kolkata. It will likely be Axar Patel who be returning to the playing 11 in place of Mishra and rest of the team may remain same. Mishra had earlier came in to side as Ashwin’s replacement and had been the pick of the bowlers who had taken important wickets at crucial juncture of the match. On the other hand, RCB may bring fit again Chris Morris or Moeen Ali in place of Adam Zampa who has not been performing as per expectation. Apart from bowling, Both Morris and Ali are big hitters and can change the game in no time.

Predicted XI of both teams-
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Devdutt Paddikal, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers(WK),Moeen Ali/Chris Morris, Shivam Dube,Gurkeerat Singh, Isuru Udana,Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini

Delhi Capitals: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant(WK), Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Anrich Nortje, Harshal Patel, Kagiso Rabada

Players to watch out –
1. Prithvi Shaw: Shaw is in superb form and has been scoring quick runs at the top in almost every match. He alongwith Dhawan has been providing Delhi with brisk starts and that is one the reasons that DC is doing so well this season.
2. Shreyas Iyer: Delhi captain looked in superb form against KKR and he has started to create fear amongst the opposition team bowlers.
3. Rishabh Pant: The wicket-keeper batsman finally scored some runs in the match against Knight Riders and everyone knows how dangerous batsman he can be if he gets going.
4. Kagiso Rabada: Although, he may not have had the best match against Kolkata but other than that he has been troubling opposition batsman and not letting them score runs in the death overs. His variations and those yorkers at the end could prove very effective.
5.Virat Kohli: Captain Kohli  is amongst runs and this is the good news that RCB fans had been waiting for. If he and deVilliers get going, Delhi may have no chance.
6.Navdeep Saini: Saini has been excellent in the death overs and even played a significant role in a couple of victories for Bangalore this season.
7. Yuzvendra Chahal: Spinners have an advantage here at the Dubai Cricket stadium pitch and Chahal could make a difference if he manages to pick up some key wickets.

Head to Head Comparison
If we see the IPL History between these two teams, then Royal Challengers have a clear advantage as they have won 14 out of the 23 matches these two sides have played against each other, with Delhi being able to win just 8 out of those matches.

If we talk about this particular match then Delhi’s bowling department looks better than Bangalore’s especially because they have trump card in the form of Kagiso Rabada. If we compare the batting lineup, then RCB take the edge as they have two of the finest batsman to have played cricket- Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers and there is no shot in the book that these two cant play. So it will be a good contest between RCB batsman and Delhi bolwers. Lets see who prevails in the contest of best vs best. Royal Challengers have never won the IPL title in history which leaves many surprised after seeing the kind of players they have had in their team over they years. This year they have got a good start and would be looking to clinch that title for which they and their fans have been waiting for so many years. One of the reasons for RCB’s failure to win IPL in past seasons has been a weak bowling line-up but this year the likes of Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal, Isuru Udana are not dissapointing fans and it looks like they are determined to win IPL season 13 trophy for their side. Its still very early to predict but if their players keep on performing like this, then the trophy will not be far away.
