IND vs AUS: Why Hardik Pandya Changed Bat In Penultimate Over, The All-Rounder Explains

Team India registered yet another emphatic win against Australia on Sunday and with that also clinched the series with one game still to go. Hardik Pandya who is in the form of his life played a crucial role in India’s six-wicket victory. After narrowly missing century in two matches during One Day International series, the all-rounder played another match winning knock and remained unbeaten on 42 off just 22 deliveries. At one stage, Pandya was unable to get bat onto ball and it seemed that India might fall short of the the target, but then Pandya changed his bat and runs suddenly started flowing.

What happened during Final Stages of Match
With India requiring 25 runs of the final two overs, Aussie pacer Andrew Tye was able to beat Pandya twice leaving him frustrated. After that Pandya asked for a change of bat. The new bat worked in Pandya’s favour as he struck two consecutive boundaries and brought India back into the game. India required 14 runs in the final over but Pandya hit two massive sixes under pressure to seal the win as well as the series.


What Pandya said after Match
After the game, Pandya said that there was only one thing on his mind that they were just two hits away. He said that he wanted to finish the game early rather than it going to the last ball. He further added that he has been trying to find out which bat to play with for the last five matches as he had broken the bat which he was playing for last 3 years.
