Legendary left handed Batter Gautam Gambhir made an interesting comment regarding two Indian off spinners. Harbhajan Singh the former off spinner who was famous for his clever witty ‘doosra’ would be surprised. The comment actually has been controversial where the former Cricketer has compared spinners from two different eras. The crafty off spinner Ashwin now has 436 wickets to his name. He achieved this feat in the 1st Test Match against Sri Lanka at Mohali. While The former off spinner Harbhajan has 417 wickets to his name in 103 Test Matches.
The World Cup Winning Cricketer said “As a batter, I would hate to face Ravichandran Ashwin, but I would love to watch Harbhajan Singh. This means, that as a left-hander, I would always feel that Ashwin could dismiss me, but as an analyst, then he had that bounce, that doosra and could dip the ball. And Ashwin, for a left-hander or any other batter, he is much more difficult to face because he is far more accurate and difficult because of his speed variations. Harbhajan Singh was more beautiful to watch,”
Earlier too, the former dashing batter had made a statement regarding Venkatesh Iyer’s place in the team by stating that he doesn’t deserve a place in the team. India is in a reconstruction and rebuilding phase where a new Coach and new Captain are appointed. There is no doubt that a Great Cricketer of his Caliber should be spot on and bang on, but at the same time there lies a boundary which should never be crossed. The same applies for the entire Experts who wanna be expressive. Such designated Individuals should be calm and focus on Constructive Criticism rather than getting into the face. All in all, every ex Cricketer wants his favorite team to excel and achieve greater heights.
