Gautam Gambhir fires back at critics who question his IPL stint

Earlier this week, former Indian cricketer and Lucknow Super Giants coach Gautam Gambhir hit back at his critics, particularly those who questioned his participation in this year’s Tata IPL. Gambhir has been the target of political opponents who pointed to his media roles to accuse him of being indifferent to his constituency. Meanwhile, Gambhir responded to his critics with a 53-second video in which he asks the media to publish his side of the story. He appears to say, “ho sake toh isko chaap dena.”

Gautam Gambhir spends INR 25 Lakh every month

In response to his critics, he remarked that he commentates or works in IPL because he spends INR 25 lakh every month trying to feed 5000 people. This equates to around Rs. 2.75 crore every year. He further stated that he spent INR 25 lakh to build a library. He clarified that he paid for everything out of his own wallet, not from the MPLAD fund. “The MPLAD fund doesn’t run my kitchen or other things that I do,” Gambhir said. “I don’t have a tree in my house from where I can pluck money either,” he further added.

“Only because I work, I’m able to feed those 5000 people or establish that library. I have no shame in saying that I do commentary and work in the IPL. All of this which I do has an ultimate goal,” Gambhir can be heard saying this in the video.
