Faf du Plessis back in form?

In the ongoing match between RCB vs LSG, the RCB skipper, Faf du Plessis has finally got his form back. Faf du Plessis has score 96 runs in 64 balls.

Lucknow won the toss and decided to bowl first. Anuj Rawat came on the pitch with his captain Faf. The start went very bad for RCB as Anuj Rawat was dismissed by Dushmantha Chameera followed by Virat Kohli who went for a duck. Now all the responsibility was in the hands of the captain. Faf didn’t have a good start as a captain in this season of IPL. He was being dismissed on very low scores in the previous matches.

Last few innings of Faf du Plessis

Faf has scored 146 runs at an average of 25.67 in his past six innings. He had a strong start as captain in his first game. Against Punjab, he scored 88 runs off 57 balls. However, after that, he failed to score runs matches after the match. In the next match against Kolkata, he scored five runs in four balls and was sent back.

After that, against Rajasthan Royals, he was dismissed with 29 runs. His innings against Mumbai was also not good as he scored just 16 runs off 24 balls. In the next two matches against Chennai and Delhi, he managed to score eight runs in each match.

du Plessis back in form?

As the fans were waiting for the new Bangalore skipper to come back in his form, he finally played a good innings in the match against LSG on 19th March. He scored 96 runs in the innings to help his team set a good total. He smashed two sixes in his innings and 11 fours.

This is good news for the RCB fans as the opening order of the team was failing to support the team. With Virat Kohli’s bat not speaking much and Rawat is trying to support, but not consistent, all the pressure was on the middle order of the team.

Faf di Plessis smashed his first six over long-on against Ravi Bishnoi. There was too much flight in the ball and the skipper came forward and lofted the shot clean and clear over long-on. The other massive six he scored was against Krunal Pandya. The ball was full-on stumps and du Plessis made some room for himself and lofted straight over the head of the bowler. There were surely just two maximums in his innings, but this gave a clue that the South African star is back in his form and can support his team till the end.
