Andrew Symonds Passes Away—Know More About Him!

Andrew Symonds, a former Australian all-rounder, died in a car accident. Symonds died at the age of 46. Since the loss of renowned Australian cricketer Shane Warne, this is the second huge setback for Australian cricket.

Around 10:30 pm on Saturday, former Australia all-rounder Andrew Symonds’ car crashed in the Harvey Range, around 50 kilometers west of Townsville. The loss of an international Australian cricketer in the last three months has come as a shock to the whole cricketing community. The international career of Andrew Symonds

Andrew Symonds had an international career spanning nearly 11 years. Symonds made his international debut for Australia in 1998, although he only played 28 Test matches for the great Australian team. He did, however, make a substantial contribution to the Australian ODI squad, appearing in 198 games for the country and amassing over 5000 runs.

His career was hampered by controversy, the most infamous of which was the Monkey Gate incident. When India toured Australia in 2007-08 for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Symonds engaged in verbal sparring with Harbhajan Singh, the legendary Indian off-spinner. The Indian team accused Symonds of being abusive.

Andrew Symonds’ playing career was littered with both glory and scandal, but no one can argue that he was one of the most promising all-rounders on one of the greatest cricketing teams ever assembled.

Andrew Symonds And Michael Clarke

Symonds and Michael Clarke were formerly regarded as formidable pairs for the squad. After some time, however, a gap arose between the two. Andrew Symonds was nearing the end of his professional career.

Meanwhile, while Michael Clarke was captain of Australia, Symonds stormed out of a team meeting. He was thus dropped from the team. Before participating in the ODI series in 2008, Michael Clarke claimed that Andrew Symonds was under the effects of alcohol. Andrew Symonds also harshly attacked Michael Clarke in 2015.

As Michael Clarke recalled in the 2015 Ashes Diary, Symonds appeared on television to question his leadership. Symonds, according to Michael Clarke at the time, is a guy who enjoys slandering people. Symonds made a remark about it while Brett Lee was on the show. He said that their friendship ended after he became wealthy from the IPL. Symonds was the highest expensive foreign player in the IPL’s debut season in 2008. In the first season, the Deccan Chargers bought him for Rs 5.4 crore.
