5 biggest flops in IPL 2022

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 edition hasn’t stopped impressing us. The chance for new talent to develop is at an all-time high this year, thanks to the addition of two new teams. However, not everyone is capable of delivering when the stakes are high.

The IPL has witnessed the collapse of players who were considered to be the next big thing time and time again. Many brilliant cricketers have crumbled after entering the league with a substantial reputation and a high salary. In this post, we’ll look at the five biggest IPL 2022 flops.

5 biggest flops in IPL 2022

Ishan KishanIshan Kishan was the most expensive player in the IPL 2022 mega auction. He was bought back by Mumbai Indians for a whopping 15.25 crores. His performance hasn’t lived up to expectations. He is known for playing impactful knocks but this season, he looked out of form. Kishan’s performance is one of the reasons why MI is struggling to win matches this season. He has scored 191 runs in 6 matches with a decent strike rate of 117.18.

Rohit Sharma – In this IPL, Rohit Sharma’s form has been a big matter of concern for the Mumbai Indians. The hitman’s inability to perform at the top of the order has seen MI lose their first 6 matches. MI’s skipper has been a significant letdown to both his team and fans, scoring 114 runs at an average of 19 with the highest score of 41. As a result, the Paltan have had their worst start to the IPL and are almost out of contention for the playoffs this season.

His batting too hasn’t been great, He has scored 51 runs in 6 innings at a strike rate of 116.  Smith has been a significant disappointment due to his lack of variations in bowling and inability to handle pressure situations.

Mohammed Siraj – After a fantastic 2021 IPL season, questions about Mohammed Siraj’s potential as a T20 bowler have popped up again. Siraj’s bowling in this season has sparked the flashbacks of his previous seasons. Aside from his 9.89 runs per over economy, the bowler has only grabbed 6 wickets in 7 games with an average of 46.17. Even though Siraj is looking out of form, his team is doing good this season.
